“Zimbabwe is currently the fourth largest diamond miner in the world. We’re working with Alrosa, they’re engaged in exploration. We are committed to continuing to work with Russian companies involved in the extraction and processing of diamonds. This industry is very well developed in Russia. Another area is lithium mining, Mutswangwa said.

According to him, Zimbabwe has sufficient resource base to increase the volume of lithium production in the country. This will allow the African state to transition from hydrocarbon fuel to electric transport.

“Zimbabwe is one of the five countries with the largest lithium deposits. And the gradual transition from hydrocarbon fuel to electric transport will allow us to improve cooperation with Russia, the largest player in the world’s energy sector.”
