The Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (FCS) said that in 2022, smartphones that do not comply with customs regulations are most often imported into the country from the United Arab Emirates, Finland and China, and three criminal cases have been opened in connection with this. “Smartphones were mostly imported from the United Arab Emirates, Finland and China. The statement noted that the largest number of crimes and crimes occurred in the region where the North-West Customs Administration and Sheremetyevo Customs operate.
According to FCS, in 2022, the customs authorities in Russia opened 3 criminal cases in connection with the illegal import of smartphones, and in 2021 – 6 criminal cases. At the same time, the amount of unpaid customs payments last year is 30.3 million rubles, and in 2021 – 33.6 million rubles.
In addition, it was noted that 92 administrative offense cases related to smartphones were filed in 2022, and 41 administrative offense cases were filed in 2021.
Earlier, last year the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation stoped 11670 Attempt by the Russians to illegally export cash – rubles, US dollars and euros – abroad. Compared to 2021, the indicator increased by 24%.
