External public debt at the end of 2019 amounted to 3.395 trillion rubles, in 2020 – 4.189 trillion rubles, in 2021 – 4.435 trillion rubles and in 2022 – 4.039 trillion rubles.
In addition, the volume of domestic public debt at the end of the year amounted to 18.78 billion rubles.
These numbers correspond to the “norm” as stated by the auditors. Currently, public debt is 17.1% of GDP.
Public debt, including reserves, is at a safe level and has the lowest GDP-to-G20 ratio among G20 member states. The joint venture also added that in some developed countries, the level of public debt has exceeded 100% of GDP without affecting the stability of their economies.
