At the end of last year, inflation rates slowed the most in Venezuela, falling from 686% to 234% in the Latin American country in 12 months. In total, the slowdown in consumer price growth in 30 countries of the world, informs RIA Novosti, according to its own calculations.

Last year, large-scale decreases were observed in inflation in many African countries as well as Venezuela. For example, in Sudan this indicator fell by more than 230 percent and in Lebanon by 102 percentage points. The article notes that in other states the rate of decline in consumer prices is not that high.

“According to the results of last year, inflation slowed down in only 30 countries of the world, while Venezuela was the strongest – from 686% to 234%. This figure fell by 230 percent in Sudan and 102 percent in Lebanon. Also in the top five in terms of slowing price growth are Cuba (-38 percentage points) and Angola (-13 percentage points).
