RN-Vankor, part of Rosneft’s oil and gas production complex, has produced 80 billion m3 of related petroleum gas (APG) at the Vankor field cluster (Vankorskoye, Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye) since it came into operation. Vankorskoye field in 2009. This was reported by the press service of Rosneft.

The company states that one of the most comprehensive and modern gas collection, purification and transportation systems has been created in Vankor, making it one of the highest in the industry, with an APG utilization rate of over 99%. Gas infrastructure facilities are equipped with modern equipment with automatic control and monitoring systems for production processes.

The raw materials produced at the sites are sent to the gas treatment and compression facilities located at the central collection point (CPS) of the Vankor site. CPS also receives gas from the Suzunskoye field via the 79 km long Suzun-Vankor interfield gas pipeline.

The main volume of extracted raw materials is supplied to consumers through the main gas pipeline Vankor – Khalmerpayutinskoye field with a length of 108 km. Rosneft emphasizes that since 2014, more than 44 billion cubic meters have already been sent to the country’s Unified Gas Supply System.

The associated petroleum gas is used for the technological needs of the RN-Vankor production sites – it is injected into the reservoir to maintain reservoir pressure and serves as fuel for the 200 MW Vankor gas turbine power plant.

In addition, APG produced at the Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye fields serves as fuel for the gas piston generator sets of temporary power plants for electricity generation.

The company adds that the implementation of a comprehensive gas program in the Vankor cluster is an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint of the large-scale Vostok Oil project implemented by Rosneft in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The use of APG as fuel in gas turbine units is provided by Vostok Oil’s energy supply program.
