Importers of heavy machinery and equipment faced difficulties in the delivery of goods from the territory of the Far East of Russia. Local ports cannot meet the increasing demand for the transport of machine tools, production lines, power equipment and heavy special equipment, due to the interruption of the supply of these products from European countries, informs newspaper “Kommersant” referring to market participants.

“The number of requests for the calculation of transportation of machine tools (mainly turning and laser cutting), production lines (for oil mills), transformers, drilling, agricultural and construction equipment, medical and packaging equipment and printing equipment has increased significantly. . The growth has been 50% since March 2022,” explains Alfa Transit logistics company.

Igor Rebelsky, founder of VIG Trans, also pointed to the increasing demand for transporting various types of special equipment. But for him the increase was less significant – about 35% compared to the 2020 figure. At the same time, Negaritika General Manager Vyacheslav Borodin estimates the increase in demand for cargo transportation from Far Eastern ports to be 400%.

“Demand has increased significantly, primarily for the transport of equipment: truck tractors, dump trucks, construction equipment and, to a lesser extent, equipment,” Borodin concluded.
