“We propose banning 47 types of electronic components that could be used in Russian weapons systems, including rare earth components used for missiles, drones, helicopters and thermal cameras,” von der Leyen said.
The diplomat also pledged to ban the export to Russia of industrial and high-tech products, particularly those that can be procured from China, including aircraft engines and components, heavy construction equipment and spare parts, and communication systems. The new EU measures will affect goods worth €11 billion.
