The Ministry of Agriculture plans to submit to the customs and tariff regulation subcommittee the issue of imposing quotas on the import of potato seeds and a number of other agricultural crops from hostile countries. It is stated that it is suggested that the restrictions be introduced between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The ministry also wants to impose quotas on imports of wheat, rye, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower and sugar beet.
Recommendations on the volume of quotas have not yet been made. It is assumed that the measure will not affect the import of goods entering the Russian market from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU, Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan).
