Russian Ambassador to Jakarta Lyudmila Vorobyova in an interview DEA News He said negotiations for a free trade area (FTA) between Indonesia and the Eurasian Union had already begun and an agreement could be signed within two years.

“At the end of last year, a free trade area negotiation process and a corresponding agreement between the EAEU and the Indonesian government were initiated,” he said.

Vorobyeva added that a memorandum of cooperation between the EAEU and the Indonesian government was signed in 2019, and negotiations for an FTA began at the end of last year. According to their estimates, they will last about two years.

The diplomat noted that Indonesians are very enthusiastic about the future of this project.
