According to experts, 36% of workers don’t want a pay rise because they don’t see any point in it, 21% don’t know how to ask for it or are embarrassed, 15% fear being fired or management aggression. Also, 13% see difficulties in the company and 15% believe that now is not the right time.
At the same time, 21% seek a salary increase annually and 7% semi-annually. The rest apply for a pay raise as they perform and succeed.
The researchers also learned that some companies are willing to maintain pay increases for employees who decide to leave. According to the research, it was possible to retain 21% of the employees working mainly in the fields of finance, service, industry, construction, law, sales, medicine and education. At the same time, 58% reported that their employers never tried to retain them in this way.
The study was conducted from January 23 to February 6 and included approximately 2,000 working Russians aged 25-55 years.
