According to him, European states are lucky with this mild winter, but the agency is worried about what will happen in a year.

The agency’s director noted that European states are still receiving Russian gas in recent months, and are getting more liquefied natural gas.

Birol stressed that gas supplies from the Russian Federation “may no longer exist” in 2023. He also pointed out the need to increase capacity for renewable energy sources.
