Stable cold weather contributes to the increase in electricity consumption and, accordingly, the increase in its deficit, so emergency power outages are possible in Ukraine, the national energy company Ukrenergo reported.

Ukrenergo said, “Consumption limits valid between 09.00-24.00 were brought to the regions in order to ensure the balance between production and consumption.”

The company also warned that if the consumption limits are exceeded, there will be an emergency power cut.

Ukrainian consumers were asked to use energy-intensive devices and save electricity.

Since October 10, the Russian Armed Forces have been attacking energy and military installations in Ukraine. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this was in particular a response to the attacks on the Crimean bridge, behind which the Ukrainian special forces stood.

Like declaration Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the government expects to create a decentralized energy system in the country that will be more protected from missile attacks.
