Hungarian Energy Minister Csaba Lantos said on the radio station’s broadcast: KossuthHe said that in the next two years the energy situation in European countries will be difficult and Europe will not be able to completely stop its dependence on Russia’s gas supply.
Mentioning that there may be a gas shortage of 30 billion cubic meters in the European Union, the Minister stated that “25 large terminals are currently being built to receive liquefied natural gas” in EU countries with access to the sea. It is assumed that LNG will gradually replace the gas that comes from Russia via the Nord Stream pipeline and continues to arrive via the Turkish Stream.
The Minister predicts that the years 2023-2024 will be difficult for the European states, but as soon as the LNG terminals are ready, it will be possible to talk about the full independence of Europe from Russian gas.
Klaus Müller, Former Head of the German Federal Network Agency declarationThat Germany is saved in the current winter in terms of gas supply.
Muller noted that since the end of December last year, underground gas storage facilities have been more than 90 percent full, which is a good indicator. For the whole of 2022, 14% less gas was consumed than in 2021.
