Expert Lebedinskaya reminded that workers have the right to double pay on holidays 08:45

Employees who work on public holidays – January 1 to January 8, and on weekends – can count on double pay. This was told to the Prime Minister’s Office by an associate professor of the Department of Statistics of the Russian University of Economics. GV Plekhanova Olga Lebedinskaya.

“There is a wonderful article 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, which regulates increased wages on weekends and holidays,” recalled the expert.

He pointed out that in addition to the traditional 5 days 6 days variable leave work week, there are 12-hour and 24-hour shifts, shifts, and therefore the days off can be provided on different days of the week. , most importantly – weekly.

Assoc. Hours actually worked on weekends or holidays (0 to 24 hours) are paid if part of the working day falls on such days.

At the same time, if the employee leaves the job voluntarily without certification, the employer is not obliged to give him additional leave or make additional payments.

Kristina Yankovskaya, formerly a private practice lawyer saidthe employer is obliged to pay wages to the workers until December 30, if the calculation day coincides with the New Year’s holiday, otherwise interest will have to be paid for each day of delay.
