China will invest in Afghanistan’s coal-fired power industry. About reported The country’s National Electricity Corporation (DABS), after the company’s executive director, Mullah Mohammed Hanif Hamza, met with the representative of the PRC Chamber of Commerce.

“At this meeting, a representative from the China Chamber of Commerce told the DABS leadership that they want to invest in Afghanistan’s coal-fired electricity generation with a total capacity of 500 MW,” DABS said.

The Afghan company said that the Chinese representative said that they have experience in generating electricity from coal-fired power plants in different countries, so they can install their equipment anywhere in the country.

According to the head of DABS, the joint technical groups of the two countries will discuss all the issues and then the results will be presented to the Afghan authorities.
