Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak believes that the growth in gas production in Norway and the UK will be short-term, while liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to the European Union may be unstable. He said this in an interview TASS.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the European Union has reduced its gas imports from Russia and is currently focusing on LNG and the growth of its own production, which, as he stated, briefly occurred in Norway in the UK.
At the same time, the resources there are very limited and Novak believes that this increase will not be long-term.
“If we talk about LNG, there is no guarantee here either. “With the increasing consumption in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe will inevitably face famines,” he said.
Kirill Polous, President of Gazprom Energy Holding declarationthe gas industry does not receive the necessary investment volumes in terms of production. Therefore, the development of terminals for the purchase of liquefied natural gas by the authorities of European countries is unlikely to help solve the problem of scarcity of energy resources in the region.
