For more than 20 years, an amazing development of Moscow designers, the 195 sidewalk sweeper, rotted in the Vologda Oblast until it was discovered by employees of the Moscow Museum of Transport.
Small and agile technique produced in 1975. It was produced at the Krasny Put Moscow Mechanical Plant in the 1960s-1980s. TUM-195 cleared snow and littered sidewalks, courtyards, railway platforms, and in the summer it worked like a vacuum cleaner. The last sample of this type worked in St. Petersburg at the Kirovets plant until the mid-90s.
The mechanics have restored the original appearance and all functions of the machine. In total, only 750 “workers” were made in the USSR. The engines are installed on it from Moskvich (407, 408th model). The cabin was heated. The tricycle chassis made it possible to turn right on the spot.
Now TUM-195 will become part of the exposition of the Moscow Transport Museum, which is expected to open at the end of 2024 in the garage of Konstantin Melnikov (Novoryazanskaya Street 27).
