EBRD chief: Japan needs to actively participate in the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure 05:32

Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), said that Japan should take an active role in restoring Ukraine’s infrastructure. He said this in an interview he gave to the newspaper. Nikkei Asia.

“Japanese companies should be interested in participating in restoration work and investing in Ukraine. “We are ready to work with them to show them the investment opportunities and see how this can be structured.”

It is stated that the EBRD has allocated more than $ 1 billion to Ukraine this year, the amount of funds allocated specifically to support the activities of the Ukrenergo initiative is more than $ 500 million.

Renaud-Basso also noted that achieving these goals will likely require additional support from all participants.

Previously, the EBRD approved To provide financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 384 million US$ (€372 million). The loan funds will be used to restore the country’s energy infrastructure, which has been damaged by the escalation of the conflict with Russia.

Prior to that, Austrian Finance Minister Magnus Brunner, during his meeting with Renault-Basso, will provide Ukraine additional 10 million Euros to support the country’s digital infrastructure. At the same time, Austria has already delivered the first 140 laptops to Ukraine.
