A new exposition has opened at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant Museum. Now in part of the area of the main exhibition hall there are exhibitions dedicated to the release of the Lada Vesta family. Recall that the serial assembly of the car started in September 2015 and ended in August 2022. The updated Vesta NG machines, which barely went off the assembly line in 2022, were ready almost immediately after the launch, in February-March.
Now, Vesta production is moving to Togliatti, where production of the redesigned Vesta NG family should begin in March 2023. In Izhevsk remain production facilities, which will be partially loaded with the production of electric Largus, and several museum exhibits dedicated to Vesta – in its final form for the Izhevsk site.
The museum exhibit includes Vesta’s engines and gearboxes, fragments of the body (welding and painting were also performed in Izhevsk), as well as plastic parts of the updated family: door trim and bumpers.
By the way, plastic for Vesta will continue to be made in Izhevsk, these components will be delivered to Vesta’s “new homeland” in Togliatti. Where Vesta NG, I want to believe, will become really serial.
- The resumption of production in Togliatti is promised in March 2023, but versions with automatic transmission will appear later.
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
