The fire truck ACL-3.0-50-24 has officially joined the family of rescue vehicles based on the new generation K5 KAMAZ chassis. The tanker with ladder is designed for working at height and supplying extinguishing agents to the fire zone. The combat team consists of two people. The fire truck was based on the two-axle KAMAZ-63934, which is not yet mass-produced.
The truck cab is essentially the same K5 used on the family’s firstborn, the KAMAZ-54901 main tractors, but it’s much lower and shorter, with no sleeping compartment. Its specialized “filling” is an automated control and monitoring system that covers all systems of a fire engine.
A 310 hp engine with a capacity of 6.7 liters is hidden under the cab, the environmental class is Euro-5, reports KAMAZ. It is clear that this is an in-line turbo diesel Cummins ISB6.7E6 310, which was located in Naberezhnye Chelny. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with PTO. The fire pump develops considerable power – 50 liters per second. Hidden in an aluminum superstructure, the tank has a capacity of 3000 liters and the foam tank is designed for a minimum volume of 180 liters.
The ladder can be lifted up to 75° and has a maximum reach of 14 meters with a load at a height. When used as a crane, the lifting capacity of ACL is 1 ton. The maximum weight on the front axle is 9000 kg, on the rear – up to 13000 kg.
Now the car is undergoing fine-tuning and tuning of electronic systems, and then it will be handed over to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for testing and use. It is worth recalling that a little earlier, in June this year, the factory workers showed two more variants of fire trucks based on KAMAZ-63934.
In collaboration with whom the new car was made, the press release of the car giant does not mention. Note that one of the largest manufacturers of fire equipment on the chassis of various Russian vehicles is Miass Priority. On the website of this company it is easy to find information about the AC-4.0-50/4 on the chassis of the same KAMAZ-63934.
- And a few years ago they created an interesting fire truck based on Ural Next.
