Renault Duster
It has proven itself as a reliable and unpretentious crossover with good cross-country capabilities. This also applies to the four-wheel drive. The rear wheels are connected by an electromagnetic clutch. It can be forcibly locked at speeds of up to 80 km/h.
On Dusters with a manual transmission, first gear is very short and essentially replaces downshifting. Interwheel locks are simulated by electronics – they work so-so on first-generation machines. But there are no complaints about the reliability of four-wheel drive.
The electromagnetic clutch that connects the rear wheels with each other lasts a long time with the Duster. There are no problems with the right-angle gearbox, with the cardan shaft, with wheel drives.
The only things that need attention are the shaft seals and the outgoing stuffing box of the PTO. They may be chasing gear oil in a few years.

For one and a half million you can buy a good two-year-old Duster.
The salon is cheap and simple. All-wheel drive modes are switched by a washing machine. The first gear in a manual transmission is a replacement for the “downshift”.
Subaru Forester
With a budget of up to 1.5 million, you will find “Forik” 2013-2014 release (IV generation). All engines, both petrol and diesel, are equipped with symmetrical four-wheel drive and a CVT.
And you don’t have to worry about a continuously variable transmission – it can even withstand off-road rides. Of course, with a regular oil change – every 40-50 thousand kilometers. This includes two Lineartronic CVT models – TR580 (came with naturally aspirated engines) and TR690.
The four-wheel drive uses a self-locking center differential, which is unusual these days. All transmission elements have a long service life, even with active use. Like the variator, gearboxes also need regular oil changes.

Finishing materials are not the most resistant. Be prepared for the steering wheel and seat to be quite worn.
