Association “Russian Automobile Dealers” (ROAD) made an offer Development of a law on the life cycle of vehicles. A corresponding appeal was sent to the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

“Current Russian legislation does not directly regulate many aspects of the relationship between automakers, dealers and end consumers. “ROAD believes that this regulation can be implemented through the adoption of an appropriate federal law that governs the entire life cycle of a vehicle, from the moment it rolls off the assembly line to its disposal,” he said.

The association proposed the creation of an interdepartmental working group to develop a draft law “On the sale, maintenance and disposal of vehicles.”

Prior to this, ROAD had proposed introducing new requirements for automobile factories.

Therefore, the association believes that it is necessary for automakers to store data for diagnostics and repair of any car for 10 years on a special server located in the Russian Federation. In addition, automobile manufacturers are required to create spare parts warehouses that provide maintenance and repair of vehicles during the warranty period and service life.

In addition, the association demands car manufacturers to Russify the menus of cars imported to the Russian Federation and to translate spare parts catalogs and vehicle user manuals into Russian.

In addition, ROAD considers it necessary to oblige automakers to create courses on the operation and repair of equipment in Russia.
