The BMW car brand has announced a new recall campaign affecting more than 720,000 cars in the United States. reports motor1.com.
The problem is that an improperly sealed electrical connector on the pump can cause a short circuit and fire if it comes into contact with water.
The recall campaign applies to BMW 3 Series vehicles from 2012 to 2016, BMW X3 sDrive28i and X3 xDrive28i crossovers from 2013 to 2017, and BMW 5 Series sedans from 2012 to 2016.
Dealers will inspect the water pump and wiring free of charge and replace if necessary.

In the event of a crash, the airbag designed for a different type of steering wheel might not deploy correctly.
