The government has approved new rules on the use of road systems for photo and video recording of traffic violations. They will come into force on September 1 reports “Kommersant”.
According to the officially published government regulations No. 752 and 754, the distance between fixed video recording systems should be 1-5 km and the speed control zone should start 150-300 m after the warning sign. Regional authorities will be prohibited from processing data in the complexes; All recorded data will go directly to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The documents also include a closed list of places where speed cameras can be installed, stating that their support should not obstruct road signs and traffic lights.
Mobile cameras will be allowed to be placed on the road work area but will need to be removed once the work is completed. In addition, it will be mandatory to mark vehicles with mobile systems for recording traffic violations with color schemes.
