If you pour too viscous oil into a modern car engine, for example xW-50, in the future this will lead to a major overhaul of the power unit. In this respect reported Mikhail Kolodochkin, automobile expert of the magazine “Behind the Wheel”.
“If you pour overly viscous oil into a modern engine, losses in the narrow oil channels will increase. Due to high viscosity, the oil will not reach the required volume on time. “There will be oil shortages and major repairs in the future,” said the expert.
Kolodochkin explained that when it comes to high-output engines, if significant gaps appear in the friction pairs, a more viscous oil will help such an engine run for a while longer before being sent for maintenance or scrap.
According to the expert, any “oil” experiments that deviate from the engine manufacturer’s recommendations can only be justified on engines that have reached the end of their service life.
Before that Mikhail Kolodochkin reportedIn case of oil leakage from the engine, strong friction of the mechanisms occurs inside and the wear of the power unit increases. The vehicle will travel approximately 70 or 100 km before serious problems occur. Under optimal conditions, this may be 200 km, and then the power unit will overheat and jam.
According to the automobile expert, there is no internal combustion engine in the world that can operate without oil. At the same time, some manufacturers of additives offer to purchase compounds that allow the engine to operate without lubrication, but these statements are extremely doubtful.
