Russian drivers need to check the condition of their brake pads before the start of the summer season, because after winter and spring the brake pads may be in poor condition. This is the opinion of Rossiyskaya Gazeta shared The owner of the Fit Service car service center in Moscow is Alexey Shchigolev.
“In winter, drivers actively press the brakes, as the roads are slippery, and in the spring there is high humidity and a lot of dirt, the snow melts, mixing with reagent residues – this mixture gets on cars. “It turned out that the probability of wear of the brake pads after winter and spring is very high,” he said.
According to Shchigolev, the first sign of a faulty pad is the loss of braking effect: If the driver feels that it takes longer to stop the car, this may indicate problems in the system. The expert stated that attention should also be paid to noises and extraneous sounds. If the driver hears squeaking, grinding or knocking sounds when applying the brakes, this may also indicate worn pads.
Shchigolev added that vibration in the pedal or steering wheel during braking also indicates the presence of a malfunction. The auto expert also reminded that brake pads have an expiration date. They must be at least 3 mm thick. Otherwise, Shchigolev recommended replacing them.

To increase the cleaning effect, you can add a few milliliters of dishwashing detergent, for example, to the five-liter washing machine tank. Automobile experts also warned that with the arrival of spring, the tap water poured by drivers into the windshield washer reservoir could damage the washer fluid supply system.
