Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1 were at the top of the list of the most powerful cars produced in the 90s. List made Columnist of the Motor.ru portal
The publication claims that one of the legends of the last century, the Jaguar XJ220, surpasses even many modern supercars in power. The car has rear-wheel drive, a 3.5-liter V6 engine with two turbochargers, a dry sump and multi-point fuel injection. Power was 550 hp. At the same time, the supercar’s name hides its maximum acceleration speed of 220 mph (354 km/h). However, in practice, the vehicle only reached a speed of 341.7 km/h.
McLaren F1, which received only a 6.1-liter, 627 hp, naturally aspirated V12 engine, managed to surpass the Jaguar XJ220. The vehicle reached 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and its maximum speed was 390 km/h. Today, tens of millions of dollars are asked for this model at auctions.
The portal also noted that in the 90s the legendary Porsche 911 GT1 Straßenversion, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Lamborghini Diablo GT and Bugatti EB110 GT were released.
