Russian drivers have changed their approach to vehicle maintenance and more often contact a car service center when a malfunction occurs, to the detriment of preventive maintenance. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to Tatyana Ovchinnikova, director of the Fit Service franchise car services network.
“The share of preventive maintenance will decrease in the future. This is because the fleet is aging and breakdowns are increasing. Moreover, the increasing number of sensors and electronic systems in a car also leads to an increase in the number of certain problems,” Ovchinnikova told the publication.
According to Fit Service, 29% of service calls in 2023 account for preventive vehicle maintenance, while specific work accounts for 71%.
“Car repair shops will increasingly face so-called “curb repair” problems. Something suddenly broke down in the car and urgent repairs are required, said Alexander Gruzdev, general director of the marketing company Gruzdev-Analyze, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to him, the management of vehicle service centers should take into account this feature and change the strategy for operating service stations, taking into account the demand for urgent repair work.
