Porsche had to suspend Macan sales due to new cybersecurity rules 13:09

New recommendations from the UN Economic Commission for Europe will force German automaker Porsche to stop selling the current generation of the Macan crossover in the European Union after July 7, 2024. In this respect reports Automobilwoche.

This is due to new UNECE recommendations on cybersecurity. Without them, registration of new Macans in the European Union will be impossible, and Porsche will be forced to stop selling this model, although its successor, the electric Macan EV, has not yet been released to the public. It would be very expensive to modify the existing model to meet the new requirements.

The launch of the Macan EV is still a few months away. clarifies Engine1. The early withdrawal of the Macan from 27 EU markets would be a significant blow for Porsche as it is its best-selling model.

Previously it was known that AvtoVAZ Works on prototypes of the electric Vesta and Niva.
