Hitting a snowblower is a common traffic accident. About this issue in an interview with the Public News Service reported automobile lawyer Dmitry Slavnov. According to him, the damage caused by the fault of the driver of the municipal equipment must be compensated by the insurance company to the owner.
“We call the road patrol officers and record the accident. Each piece of municipal snow removal equipment has an insurance policy number, which you should first contact your insurance company. For example, if there is no insurance policy, the responsibility lies with the owner,” Slavnov explained.
If a snowblower damages a car in the parking lot, the lawyer suggested looking for the culprit: leaving an advert to find witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage if available. If the driver is found to be at fault, an accident report must be prepared, just like in a traffic accident.
Before that Slavnov explained, how to punish a neighbor who takes up parking space in the yard. He said citizens should apply to the district governor’s office. The expert emphasized that the entire parking lot is a common area.
