Honda in the United States will conduct a recall campaign for five models of cars due to a manufacturing defect that could render the engine unusable. In this respect reports Engine1.
The risk group included Pilot crossovers, Ridgeline pickups and Odyssey minivans. In addition, potentially defective V6 engines were installed in two models (TLX and MDX) of the Acura brand owned by the Japanese company.
The largest recall was due to a manufacturing defect in the crankshaft. This can cause the connecting rod bearing to wear prematurely and eventually seize. Up to this point, suspicious sounds may be heard from the faulty engine and the engine fault indicator may also be triggered.
To fix the problem, Honda dealers will have to partially disassemble each car’s engine.
Previously in China showed Xpeng X9 minivan.
