AvtoVAZ may adjust its production plan downwards this year. In this respect reports RIA Novosti, citing the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov.
AvtoVAZ planned to produce 400 thousand cars by the end of the year. At the same time, 293 thousand Lada cars were produced in the January-October period. According to Sokolov, due to sanctions, logistics and financial chains have failed again, so it is possible that the production plan will be adjusted downwards by 10%.
Before that Sokolov statedIt was stated that 8.3% fewer cars could be sold in November (40.9 thousand) compared to October, when AvtoVAZ sold a record number of cars in the last 10 years. It was also stated that the planned sales volume was 1.7 times higher compared to November 2022.
Also Evgeny Shmelev, AvtoVAZ’s first vice president for strategy and technical development acceptedthat the plant was forced to produce large numbers of unfinished cars.
