The first garbage truck on the chassis of a KAMAZ-Compass medium truck was sent to the official dealer of KAMAZ, the AVTOBAU company in Moscow. The KAMAZ-Compass 43089-F5 is equipped with a Cummins ISF diesel engine with a working volume of 3.8 liters and an output of 154 hp, Reis reports. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The empty weight of the chassis is 3075 kg, the gross vehicle weight is 8990 kg and the payload of the drive axle is 6600 kg. Recall that the Compass has a full metal tunnel-like cabin, in this case it has no berth, but in general there is an option with a “sleeping bag”.
An important parameter for a garbage truck, the compaction factor can reach 6 depending on the type of waste. The indicator is solid: large garbage trucks based on KAMAZ have the same or slightly less.
The superstructure of the garbage truck is HIDRO-MAK equipment with a payload volume of 8 cubic meters and a hopper volume of 1.2 cubic meters.
The body is made of ST-52 steel with a thickness of 4 mm and the loading hopper is made of HARDOX 450 steel. It is worth noting that the equipment of the garbage truck is only one version of a special superstructure from a wide list designed for the universal platform that KAMAZ-Compass has.
- KAMAZ launched a new medium-duty family at the beginning of this year and plans to expand the number of modifications to the maximum.
