Most Russian drivers are dissatisfied with the collection of tolls on public roads. This conclusion was made by specialists of the National Automobile Association of Russia (NAS), who, together with the marketing agency FDF Group, conducted a sociological study (available on socialbites.ca) on the opinions of drivers.
Therefore, at the time of the survey, 58% of car owners did not support the introduction of toll roads, 37% of respondents spoke positively about their appearance, and 5% of drivers found it difficult to answer this question. Commenting on the results of the responses, the National Assembly emphasized that the tariffs on the toll roads no longer match the market realities.
“In 2023, traveling on the M4 highway on the Moscow-Krasnodar route will cost more than two plane tickets, even without car depreciation. This will lead to traffic outflow, increased load on free routes and reduced travel comfort in the Russian Federation, ”says the research of the union.
During the study, drivers were also asked whether the camera setup for photo and video recording of traffic violations affected the accident rate. 52% of respondents agreed that complexes reduce accidents on the roads, 40% of respondents believe that they do not affect the number of accidents, 2% find it difficult to answer, and 6% believe that cameras increase the risk of accidents. An accident.
“Cameras have a positive effect on road safety. However, an integrated approach to placement requirements is required. On this occasion, NAS experts are not allowed to place cameras outside the places where accidents and deaths increase, and to place “tripods” in places suitable for monitoring.”
