In 10 months the production of the legendary pony car Chevrolet Camaro will stop and nothing more will be heard about the receiver.
The car survived six generations, but the seventh is no more. In January 2024, the last muscle car rolls off the assembly line. Rumors of the demise of the Chevrolet Camaro have been circulating for years, but have now been confirmed.
That is stated in a press release from Chevrolet, which talks about the upcoming release of the Camaro series. There are plans for a Collector’s Edition for the RS and SS models and for the top-of-the-line Camaro ZL1. And here’s a preview of what such machines will look like.
Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet Global, promises that this isn’t the end of the Camaro’s journey. Unfortunately, the car manufacturer does not even have a potential successor at the moment.
“As we prepare to say goodbye to this generation of Camaro, it is difficult to express our gratitude to every Camaro customer, Camaro assembly line worker and racing fan,” said Bell. “While we’re not talking about a successor today, rest assured that this isn’t the end of the Camaro story.”
According to rumors, General Motors wants to make sub-brands of the Camaro and Escalade under which several models will be sold.
Whatever the Camaro becomes, it will be an electric car or a hybrid.
