The Ural Automobile Plant has prepared a prototype truck with a hybrid power plant. The wheel formula of the car is 4×2.
In fact, we are talking about a sequential hybrid: the drive is carried out by an electric motor thanks to the energy stored in the traction batteries, and if necessary they are charged by an onboard generator set that runs on liquefied gas.
*This material was created by a person who has the status of a foreign agent in the Russian Federation.
The energy from the batteries is sufficient to cover 100 km and, taking into account the use of the generator set, the range is 500 km.
A whole line of electric trucks is planned. The next one will be all-electric, with no generator, and the third will have hydrogen fuel cells.
These machines would be used for garbage collection in cities with high gas content. The presentation and the first experience of the real use of the Ural electric truck will take place in the summer, at the Environmental Water Forum of the Southern Urals.
