Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. sent a letter to Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. and Geely Automobile Ltd., Co.Group, indicating similarity of products Yellow with concept cars and Changan stock cars.
Geely issued a response to this issue, explaining every line of the draft.
It all started with the fact that on February 23, the prototype of the Geely Galaxy car was presented. Being a coupe, the novelty has a low and wide body. This is important for electric vehicles, because the low drag coefficient (Galaxy has 0.19) saves energy and increases the range.
The front of the car features Geely’s signature styling, but redesigned with photovoltaic design techniques. And the shape of the headlights and the abundance of LEDs brighten the front. Hidden between the design frills is a high-definition camera and radar.
On the side you can see the design highlights that a coupe should have. Also, the concept could not do without hidden door handles and almost invisible rear-view cameras on the side.
Inside, in addition to the already familiar large LCD screen on the center console, the new model has screens on the left and right door panels and on the back row. This is the “ring screen of the Galaxy”.
All these screens are interconnected and the information displayed on them can be transferred from one monitor to another.
Basically, Geely claims that all coincidences are random and that the company had no goal of stealing other people’s designs.
Changan believes that Geely has violated its intellectual property rights.
Chinese manufacturers started accusing each other of plagiarism
