Documents for these cars imported via parallel import will expire

Single vehicles imported into the territory of the Russian Federation must undergo conformity assessment in accordance with the provisions of GOST 33670–2015 “Single motor vehicles. Examination and testing methods for conformity assessment”.

This means that the car is presented to an accredited laboratory for assessment and examination, resulting in the issuance of a Vehicle Design Safety Certificate (SBKTS). Registrations of SBKTS “remotely”, as some companies promise, are illegal and such a document can be canceled.

Rosstandart selectively checks the correctness of the registration of the SBKTS. If fraud is detected, the body will remove the CBKTS from the register, i.e. delete the SBKTS. Cancellation is also possible if the issuing test laboratory does not have the full scope of accreditation or if the SBCTS was issued without testing.

If the document has been cancelled, the vehicle owner must apply for a new CBKTS from an accredited testing laboratory.

In 2022, 326,592 documents confirming the conformity of individual vehicles were issued in the Russian Federation (315,797 SBCTS and 10,795 conclusions on the assessment of individual vehicles (“parallel import”).
