The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has published a list of cars that are considered luxury and are subject to increased taxation. The list includes 225 models from various brands such as Porsche, Tesla, Toyota, Land Rover, Lexus, Bentley, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. This was reported by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Ukraine.
In 2023, an increased transport tax of 25 thousand hryvnia (about 47.8 thousand rubles) will be charged on these cars, which owners of expensive cars must pay within 60 days after receiving the corresponding notification from the tax authorities. Otherwise, it expects the accrued interest in default.
In Ukraine, the “luxury tax” is levied on owners of cars up to five years old, worth more than 2.5 million hryvnia (4.8 million rubles). The luxury list includes, in particular, Land Rover Defender, Porsche 911, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne, BMW – from powerful modifications of the 3 Series sedans to M-performance coupes.
