In March, Toyota, like many foreign automakers, delayed work in the country due to sanctions. Since the beginning of June 2022, the Public Consumer Initiative (PII) and Rospotrebnadzor have sued the automaker, demanding to respect consumer rights and resume the supply of spare parts to Russia.
And it turned out that since the end of last year, Toyota Motor has restored the direct supply of parts for warranty repairs and maintenance of cars and approved parallel imports for its official dealers.
The company confirmed this in court and provided customs declarations as evidence. The Toyota representative office noted that the list of parts and their number changes depending on the situation with each specific delivery.
However, market experts say that most of the components are not banned by sanctions, they can be imported into the country, and the company simply stopped to observe the situation and decide how to act in the new circumstances.
As for the Public Consumer Initiative, it will try to restore the supply of spare parts for all foreign companies.

Now dealers of many foreign companies use parts imported through parallel imports, and manufacturers do not prevent them from doing so. The warehouses are out of needed parts and the machines need to be repaired under warranty. It is also known that some car manufacturers compensate them for warranty costs for the purchase and installation of such spare parts.
