Doctor-urologist, andrologist Dmitry Tikotsky warns that heated seats harm a man’s fertility if you use this function in a car for the entire journey.
Of course, this does not mean that the seat heating should not be turned on at all: it is enough to warm the seat to a comfortable temperature and then turn it off, the doctor clarified.
The best option would be if the seat is heated before the start of the journey.
“If a man is of childbearing age, that is, he is planning a pregnancy for his partner or does not exclude such a possibility, then an elevated temperature can slightly worsen the function of the testicles. This can manifest itself in a decrease in sperm quality and a temporary decrease in testosterone levels. Not everyone and not always, but there is such a risk, and it is quite high,” concluded the urologist.
