Production of a small series of the domestic roadster “Crimea”, created on the basis of LADA Granta, will begin in 2023, said project manager Dmitry Onishchenko.
Earlier, the developers promised to release a two-seater car in 2022, after the production of the last prototype is completed.
According to Onishchenko, the deadlines had to be pushed back because of the need to obtain a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) before the end of the year. Since the project is being worked on at the university, there are not as many resources for implementation as we would like.
The exact timing of the new car’s release depends on cash injections as well as possible cooperation with AVTOVAZ, Onishchenko said. It is planned that the “Crimea” will have 98-136 horsepower and will cost 1-1.5 million rubles.
