Radar RD6
Among the Chinese novelties in the pickup segment, one can meet American giants, frameless cars and electric cars. The latter two qualities were combined by the Radar RD6 (Geely’s sub-brand for “green” pickups and SUVs). Sales started in November.
For the basic version, they ask only 1.5 million rubles, this is for a 272-horsepower car with an autonomy of 400 km and the size of a Mitsubishi L200!
The top variant with the same engine and a range of 632 km costs 2.25 million. You can forgive a lot for such a price, but in the case of a well-equipped and looking Radar, you only need rear-wheel drive. And that’s temporary: twin-engine AWD versions should be coming soon.
Interestingly, in the luggage compartment there are four household and two 12-volt outlets for powering external equipment.
GMC Sierra EV
The Americans also started to electrify their tracks with pleasure.
One of the latest additions is the GMC Sierra EV, a more expensive clone of the Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup.
It is also frameless. Rigidity is provided by the traction battery housing with subframes linked at the front and rear. The twin-engine version produces 764 horsepower. Of. and 1064 Nm, accelerate to 97 km/h in 4.5 s. Estimated autonomy – 640 km.
An interesting solution at the front trunk: the bonnet opens together with the “radiator grill”, which gives a huge opening and a low loading height.
There are many interesting things in the car:
- air suspension;
- “crab mode”, when the front and rear wheels turn in the same direction and the pickup can drive sideways;
- wheels with a diameter of 24 inches;
- tailgate with electric drive and fully folding cab wall;
- the central display is 16.8 inches.
The cost of the GMC Sierra EV will be below $110,000 at current prices.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
