One of the exhibits on the KAMAZ stand was a prototype KAMAZ-6299-40-5T (6×2) oversized low-floor bus, developed in cooperation with the subsidiary NEFAZ. Inline 6-cylinder engine consumes compressed natural gas, develops 340 horsepower. and is mated to a six-speed retarder automatic transmission.
The total weight of the bus is 28 tons. The front suspension is independent, pneumatic, for the driven and supporting axles – dependent, pneumatic. The model was designed to operate on routes with high passenger traffic and was created taking into account modern requirements for the safety and comfort of passengers, the press service reports.
The total length is 18725 mm – these are two cars articulated together. Inside there are comfortable seats, a climate system, double glazing, USB chargers, handrails with signal buttons for the driver, a large storage area and a kneeling system has been introduced. A wide passage in the second car was made possible by the placement of three seats of one and a half instead of doubles. This allows the bus to carry 155 people, with 44 seats.
