Almost half of the respondents cite the low cultural level of road users as the main reason for both traffic violations and traffic accidents.
About 14% indicated that some drivers have privileges, 12% – the leniency of penalties for traffic violations. It is noteworthy that in recent years there have been far fewer such answers – in 2013 at least 20% were inclined to this answer.
According to 67% of the respondents, child pedestrians are at the highest risk of being involved in an accident. The top 3 also included inexperienced vehicle drivers (61% of respondents) and adult pedestrians (27%).
About 48% of Russians think public transport is the safest. 31% indicated the safety of a personal car, 5% – a taxi. There were also 3% who rated motorcycles as the safest means of transportation.
