After Sergey Kogogin, general manager of KAMAZ PJSC, announced that the first Kam prototype would be released in 2023, the startup’s press service released a press release clarifying terms and naming.
“In the third quarter of 2023, the team plans to present functional prototypes of the Atom electric vehicle, which will demonstrate the readiness of technical and engineering solutions and IT developments,” said Kama CEO Igor Povarazdnyuk in a press release.
Reportedly, the conceptual idea of the project is based on Konstantin Tsiolkovsky’s theory of human atoms. The project not only includes the development of an electric vehicle, but also includes “creating a digital environment for new mobility”. The press release is accompanied by a photo teaser showing the look of the future car. It is envisioned that by 2025 such machines will become “an integral part of the comfortable, stylish and technological life of the atom-human community”.
According to a press release, the project team includes 250 car designers and IT developers. Recall that in December 2020, the Kama startup presented the first example of an electric car, the car was called Kama-1. The car was designed at SPbPU, KAMAZ acted as a technological partner.
Victoria Kondrashova, a representative of JSC Kama’s external press service, clarified in a conversation with Za Rulem that Atom has nothing to do with the Kama-1 and Kama-2 projects.
