As you know, every driver of a vehicle must have an OSAGO policy. But there are exceptions: the liability insurance does not apply to certain categories of drivers.
In particular, owners of vehicles with a maximum speed of no more than 20 km/h are exempt from this obligation. Like:
- Vehicles not registered with the traffic police
- TS of the Armed Forces
- foreign vehicles with a Green Card policy
- Vehicles that do not have wheels (eg caterpillar).
OSAGO is also not required for light trailers from private individuals.
In April of this year, persons arriving from Ukraine, the LPR and the DPR were also exempted from issuing a policy. But only for a period of 90 days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation.
If such a car turns out to be the culprit of the accident, the damage to the victim will be reimbursed by the professional association of insurers, KonsultantPlus recalls.
