Nissan lost $165 million by exiting the Russian market in the second quarter of 2022. Compared to the same period last year, profits fell 68%, according to a report by the automaker on its official website.
“The company’s net profit in 2022 was $119.3 million less than a year earlier, reflecting a one-time loss of $165 million recorded in the second quarter and related to Nissan’s exit from the Russian market and a of the profit share of affiliates”, – explained in the text.
Nissan announced a full withdrawal from Russia in early October. The company has transferred 100% of its assets to state ownership, represented by FSUE NAMI. At the same time, the company guaranteed the maintenance of jobs at the St. Petersburg car factory and the payment of part of the salary to employees.
