The new Transport and Logistics Center (TLC) will be able to handle up to 5.6 million tons of cargo per year and, among other things, supply components to the Moskvich plant, which until recently was called Renault Russia.
The center is being established under an agreement between Russian Railways and KAMAZ, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.
The head of the capital noted that the TLC will bear the name “South Port” and will be located in Pechatniki. A container and multi-purpose heavy cargo platform is being built, as well as a warehouse complex.
The center’s main cargo after the opening will be delivered from the Moskvich plant. In his message, Sobyanin reaffirmed that the company would return to car production by the end of this year.
Recall that it is no longer the intention to produce Renault, but JAC crossovers under the Russian brand – with a view to a further transition to a proprietary platform.
