As we have already written, it is unprofitable to import cheap cars into Russia via parallel imports. These should be at least mid-range or premium cars.
In addition, an application has been made in recent years for unusual cars that have not been officially delivered to our country and may not be delivered in the future. Now it’s not the car manufacturers who decide, but the dealers – that is, the market itself. What can you buy today?
“Parallel imports are now quite active deliveries of various cars. Thanks to this channel, it was possible to resume deliveries of models of departed brands – Range Rover, Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Sport, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, Audi Q5 e-tron. We also managed to bring new products to Russia that were not presented on our market before – this is the Volkswagen ID.6 electric car and the Volkswagen Bora sedan, the first batch of this model consists of 259 cars,” the deputy general manager for new car sales told Avtostat AG “AVILON” Alexey Starikov.
Andrey Chekurov, head of parallel import department at Pragmatika Group of Companies, points to the possibility of profitable imports of electric vehicles in Russia, for which interest is growing.
“In the context of parallel imports, these makes of cars are supplied, with an economic advantage for the dealer. These are mainly premium SUVs and, to a greater extent, electric vehicles. They will be novelties for the Russian market. Despite the decline in customer activity and low sales in the car market of the Russian Federation, cars imported through parallel imports are in demand,” said Vladimir Zhelobov, Sales Director for Used Cars of Avtodom Group of Companies and AvtoSpetsCentre Group of Companies.
Thus, buyers have the opportunity to buy absolutely any car by ordering it from a dealer or parallel import company.
Za Rulem, the oldest and most popular automotive publication in Russia, has already written about how much it costs to get a car from Europe and what benefits the buyer gets.
